Academic Coaching
What we do
Academic coaching combines subject tutoring, study skills, and mentorship. It's not just about covering the curriculum, it's about building the habits and confidence a student needs to work independently once the tutor isn't in the room.
We provide bespoke, in-person tutoring in Edinburgh, designed to build confidence through structured, supportive instruction, alongside online tuition when needed. Individual programmes are available for both the Scottish and English curricula and we cover National 5, Highers, GCSEs, A-Levels, the IB, and university entrance exams.
One-to-one learning
Every lesson is one-to-one and built around the student, not a fixed syllabus delivered at speed. Tutors push students to explain their reasoning, defend their answers, and work through problems out loud rather than just absorbing information. That habit of thinking on your feet builds real confidence, not just exam readiness.
Support for learning differences
Some students learn differently, and that's not a problem to be worked around, it's something to be worked with. Our specialist tutors are experienced with ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and anxiety, and adjust their approach accordingly rather than running one method for every student.
Working with the wider team
Tutoring works best when it isn't happening in isolation. Where useful, our tutors coordinate with parents, teachers, and school learning support staff, so everyone has the same picture of how a student is doing and what they need next. Our tutors also benefit from being part of a wider team, where they collaborate with and support one another.
Ongoing support between lessons
Support doesn't stop when the lesson ends. Tutors are available by text or email to check homework, proofread work, and answer questions during the week, and parents get updates after each session so they know what's being covered.
Executive function support
Alongside subject teaching, we build the skills that make independent study actually work, organisation, time management, and working memory. Students who feel capable in these areas show up more resilient and ready for the next challenge, not just the next test.
